Bruixa
Rescued in 2013.
Bruixa (meaning ‘Witch’ in Valenciano), was voluntarily signed over to APAC from Orba. She had been kept on a piece of spare land with minimum provision and care, alongside her young foal. Their owner couldn't afford any food for them, so these two roamed the mountains, eating whatever they could find.
The filly was quickly adopted to a loving family in Holland, and Bruxia stayed a while at APAC. She enjoyed her time with us, luxuriating in being well fed and well cared for. Always slightly food-driven, she and her naughty friend Safi learnt to open the door to the food storage room. Apparently that day, dinner wasn’t served fast enough, so they decided to help themselves!
We knew Bruixa would be great for easy hacking with a lightweight rider, or that she’d make a wonderful companion horse, as she has such a lovely nature, was good with other horses and used to living in a herd. We wanted a home for her with someone who had time to spend with her and with adequate turn out.
Bruixa finally found her new home after being at APAC Rescue Centre for nearly 7 years.. She was adopted to a private home nearby, by a really nice family, and now spends her time happily in the company of her new field companion Rupert ‘Ru’.
