Lucio

Lucio was the seeing partner to his companion Lord, both Koninklijk Warmbloed Paardenstamboek Nederland (Royal Warmblood Studbook of the Netherlands) or KWPN horses. Together they were brought to the APAC yard in 2016, after the riding centre where they were stabled closed down. They had been a partnership for many, many years, pulling a driving carriage, attending functions and taking part in exhibitions, before sadly being submitted to us.

A big horse with a great personality, whilst with us Lucio attended many fiestas and showed himself to be a perfect gentleman. He was totally at ease with noise, other horses and crowds of people.

Lucio and Lord were hardly ever apart. Lucio took good care of his blind friend, but he also needed some time and attention of his own, and occasionally, his own space. He enjoyed the freedom of a paddock and loved a good run and romp around a field. Lucio behaved perfectly for the right rider and loved a hack out.

We hoped Lucio could be adopted to the right home, but he could have only gone alongside his partner Lord. We never found a suitable home for this massive noble pair, and sadly said our goodbyes to Lucio in 2022. Lord remains living and being loved, at APAC, where he will see out his days.
