Peanut

Rescued in 2018.

Poor Peanut, was our little pony who was abandoned in the road. She had been wandering loose in Teulada, with no chip and a very damaged back leg. This old injury was obviously not treated properly at the time it occurred. It seemed that her leg had been broken or the tendon snapped, and it had been left to heal alone, with the hoof then becoming very badly overgrown.

She was brought  to APAC to recover and so we could see what could be done about helping her. She was clearly feeling very nervous and unused to being looked after, .

Unbeknown to us, gorgeous Peanut was pregnant, and surprised us a few months later when we opened up her box one morning to find a wonderful gift – baby Curio. She was a great Mum and took wonderful care of her baby.

After her boy Curio was adopted when he was around 2 years old, Peanut found her forever home. She went to live with a lovely older couple in Benissa, who had sadly said goodbye to one of their horses not long before, and leaving their other horse alone. Luckily, Peanut was chosen to fill that gap in this ready-made family.
