Pomenta

Rescued in 2015.

Pometa came to us as a 9 year old mare. She had escaped from her owners and then been abandoned in Pedreguer.

Attacked by a pack of dogs, she sustained very serious, in fact life threatening, injuries. APAC received a call from the local police asking us to intervene and help the pony who they thought was on the verge of death, so bad were her injuries.

Along with Equivet, Lois rushed to the scene and sadly discovered that Pometa’s outlook was very bleak. The whole of her tail was missing, and a lot of her back end badly damaged. That first night was a very long one for Sonia from Equivet to try to save her. But lo and behold Pometa is a fighter, and she made it through the night, and over the following weeks she started to make her recovery.

She went on to have a very happy life at APAC. Sadly she remained minus her tail, and with a large injury still in her rear end, she wasn’t the prettiest of ponies. But everything functioned well enough and she still played with any of the dogs who visit the APAC yard! Truly a lovely fun pony, whose personality went on to shine.

Pomenta was adopted to a local family, whose hooved friends are usually more of the showjumping variety. But this little mare stole their hearts, and they felt they needed her to make their stables and lives complete!
