Roneo

Roneo was a 25+ year old gelding, signed over to APAC after being used as a school horse most of his life. Due to arthritis in his legs, Roneo was unable to work any more. Thankfully APAC took him in, away from a stable where he was locked in, with no space to move, to instead spend his days grazing in the sun, without the weight of students to carry. As he began to roam, his legs became greatly improved, as did his life.

He was such a sweet boy who had a fantastic last two years. He enjoyed life so much, he was like a different horse! But sadly, his health deteriorated so much by the summer of 2015, then the kindest thing for him was to be put to sleep.

We are so glad to have helped him, to have given him a real and loving home, where he enjoyed being free and wandering around with his friends. Now in a better place, we thank Roneo’s sponsor who supported his rescue and care whilst he lived with us.

He taught us a lot, and we miss this great boy!
