Soleil
Our gorgeous girl Soleil (Sun) came to us with one of the saddest possible backstories.
She came to APAC in 2019 from Valencia, where she had been used for entertainment at parties. Soleigh was ridden when she was far too young, before her skeleton had properly grown, and most likely by people too heavy for her delicate stature. This is what caused the terrible deformation of her back. She was consequently rescued due to irresponsible ownership. Soleil was available for sponsorship only, due to the nature of her condition. We always knew she would live out her life with us.
Soleigh was a total star, a horse with the nicest of natures, and we absolutely loved her. She grew a large fan base amongst the friends of APAC.
Despite her terrible health problems, she was always so strong, managing every procedure or manoeuvre like a champion. But, in early October her health declined rapidly, and after long conversations with the vet and having weighed up all options, we decided that we needed to release our beautiful girl. She crossed the rainbow bridge on 14th October 2024.
Every death in our wonderful flock hits us hard, but Soleil’s is especially hard to bear. We will miss you and your messy way to eat a carrot! Run free Sunshine.
